Get an admission letter (Zulassungsbescheid) from a recognised German university.
Indian students must obtain an APS Certificate verifying academic documents. Mandatory since November 2022.
Deposit €11,904 into a blocked account (Sperrkonto) as proof of financial means; €992 monthly withdrawal allowed.
Arrange statutory or private health insurance valid in Germany - mandatory for all students.
Apply online through the Consular Services Portal (CSP); attend appointment at the German Embassy/Consulate.
Submit documents, provide biometrics, and attend interview at the German mission.
Once approved, register at the local Auslanderbehorde within two weeks of arrival.
